These parameters include conductor size, current density, inner and outer radius of the iron yoke, and more. This preliminary dimensioning enables the acquisition of the necessary specifications for the design. Within this report, analytical expressions for the magnetic field, Lorentz forces, and stored energy of multipole magnets with the cos(n&theta;) and sector coil configurations, both with and without the presence of an iron yoke, are derived. These derivations are based on the vector potential of a current line.</p></subfield> </datafield> <controlfield tag="001">143359</controlfield> <datafield tag="980" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">user-infn</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="100" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Stefania Farinon</subfield> <subfield code="u">INFN Genova</subfield> <subfield code="0">(orcid)0000-0002-6487-2137</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="542" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="l">open</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="260" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="c">2023-11-03</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="041" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">eng</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="650" ind1="1" ind2="7"> <subfield code="a">cc-by</subfield> <subfield code="2">opendefinition.org</subfield> </datafield> <controlfield tag="005">20231207091808.0</controlfield> <datafield tag="980" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">publication</subfield> <subfield code="b">technicalnote</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="700" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Daniel Novelli</subfield> <subfield code="u">INFN Genova and Sapienza University of Rome</subfield> <subfield code="0">(orcid)0000-0001-9806-6355</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Magnetic field</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Lorentz forces</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Stored energy</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Magnets</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Superconduting Magnets</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Multipole cos(nθ) magnet</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Sector magnet</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Dipole</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Quadrupole</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="245" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">Magnetic field, Lorentz forces and stored energy of multipole cos(nθ) and sector magnets with and without iron yoke</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="024" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">10.15161/oar.it/143359</subfield> <subfield code="2">doi</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="540" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="u">https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/</subfield> <subfield code="a">Creative Commons Attribution 4.0</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="773" ind1=" " ind2=" "> <subfield code="a">10.15161/oar.it/143358</subfield> <subfield code="i">isVersionOf</subfield> <subfield code="n">doi</subfield> </datafield> <datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2=" "> <subfield code="s">1166377</subfield> <subfield code="u">https://www.openaccessrepository.it/record/143359/files/INFN-23-30-GE.pdf</subfield> <subfield code="z">md5:67c1d6f6799110721cdec7dfa4e5c722</subfield> </datafield> </record>
